Surf Photo Print "Into The Mystic"

This surfer girl photo is a reproduction of Southern California artist Matthew Allen's surf photography. This shot, on 35mm film, was a serendipitous moment during a burst of creativity. Working from his van, Matthew was bouncing between drawing and shooting photos as the sun descended on a picturesque California day. Turning away from the surf action he spotted a lone surfer making her way towards the evening shimmer. Intent on capturing the essence of the moment Matthew rolled his lens left and turned the water's reflections into tiny circles of light.

Matthew, a former Surfer Magazine Art Director, is also the co-creator of the now retired boutique surf brand The Ryde. Much of his fine art and photography revolves around beach and surf culture. Matthew spends his days shooting photos and making art as well as creating illustrations for clients such as UNIQLO, Ford Motor Company, Crate and Barrel, Pottery Barn, Ron Herman, Champion, Vans, Bon Appetit, Food and Wine, and the Anaheim Ducks. Most of his other waking hours are spent surfing and making music.
